SIMPLIFIED INTERLINE SETTLEMENT

Since the project kick-off in January of this year, the SIS Working Groups have been busy defining the requirements. The end of May marks the final working group meeting of the project. By June, all the project requirements will have been defined.

The next milestone in the project is a joint meeting in June with the participation of all working groups and the Steering Group. Over two days the airline experts involved in SIS will ensure that the combined vision is coherent and correct, and that no details have been overlooked.

Exactly what interline settlement will look like in the future is subject to change over the next several months, but the general project vision and key requirements are unlikely to change.

In order to better communicate the project’s vision with the airline community, Simplified Interline Settlement has launched two initiatives:

  1. The SIS website gives a project overview, organization, and timeline, and describes the project vision in detail. It will be the primary method of communicating with the public and will be updated whenever new information is available.
  2. In the first week of July, SIS will be holding webcasts that will give more information on the project in the form of a presentation and include a question & answer session. There will be three webcast styles: a general presentation with the overall vision for the revenue accounting community, a system provider presentation for system providers and internal IT staff, and a presentation for IATA Strategic Partners. More information on the webcasts is on the rightmost column of the SIS website.

The rightmost column of the website also includes instructions on getting more information about SIS or subscribing directly to future bulletins.
