The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has appointed Samuel S. David as Country Manager for the Philippines. As Country Manager, David will be responsible for driving IATA’s priorities in the Philippines, including safety, airport infrastructure, Fast Travel as well as regulatory issues affecting aviation.

Prior to joining IATA, David has held many senior roles in the airline, logistics and media industries in the Philippines. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of the Board of Airline Representatives (BAR).

“By 2035, the aviation industry is expected to support 3.4 million jobs in the Philippines, and contribute $23 billion in GDP. But this economic contribution is by no means guaranteed if the necessary government policies and infrastructure are not in place to support the industry’s development. I look forward to partnering with our stakeholders in the Philippines, including the government and industry, to maximize the economic potential that aviation can bring to our country,” said David.
