Evelop! was founded in 2013 as a charter airline and is a subsidiary of the travel and tourism conglomerate, Grupo Barceló (renamed Ávoris). Its headquarters are located in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, and the airlines operates a mix of Airbus A320's and A330's for medium and long-haul destinations, with one A350 on order. Evelop! has both scheduled and charter operations across Europe and the Caribbean. Current scheduled destinations from Madrid include Punta Cana, Cancun, La Habana, and Mauritius, and the airline is planning to open more routes in the next years.
For IATA, the Spanish market is of the utmost importance, and not just because our Regional Office is located in Madrid! We already represent Air Europa, Air Nostrum, Binter Canarias, Iberia, Vueling, Wamos Air, and are happy to welcome Evelop!, which has become our 7th Spanish member airline. The Spanish market is an aviation powerhouse, not just on the European scale but worldwide. Spain is currently the 2nd tourism destination in the world, with 82 million tourists coming to the Iberian country in 2017, 80% of which by air. None of this would be possible without a solid air transport industry.
