First Sustainable Destination Management Course

We have just had our first Sustainable Destination Management Course.

This three-day course is meant to provide the tools to devise touristic offers which are attractive and provide the desired positive economic effect, while maintaining the long-term sustainability of their destination.

This training was designed to address the specific challenges faced by the Destination Management Organizations (DMOs). The syllabus includes learning how to effectively use data in selecting the correct source markets and maximizing the return on marketing investments.

"The case studies were thought provoking, highlighting the need to proactively manage the sustainability of destinations. The course helps by outlining key strategies and tools which destinations can adopt to protect the tourism industry for the long term.
In addition, the activities allowed participants to collaborate and further discuss the key topics. I personally found these moments highly valuable and engaging, whereby we were able to compare and discuss practices and their applicability to different scenarios, as well as identify possible solutions that could work for our respective destinations. It was also beneficial to have participants from other industries present, as they provided alternative perspectives and helped to identify areas in which other stakeholders could contribute.”

Chris Matombe: Strategic Planning Director – Tourism Seychelles

"What made this training particularly valuable was the diversity of participants, including representatives from the tourism, travel and aviation industries. Their diverse perspectives and insights added significant depth to our discussions and enriched the learning experience.

Two specific topics stood out for me: Marketing Strategies and Future Technologies in Travel and Tourism. The insights into effective marketing strategies and emerging technologies were eye-opening. These learnings will undoubtedly enhance our marketing efforts and help us stay ahead of industry trends.”

Dominique Sabino: Digital Acquisition Manager – Tourism Seychelles

At least four sessions are scheduled in 2024 in Europe and the US.
