Driving the Benefits of Aviation Across the Continent

Air transport is vital for the socio-economic development of Africa, with growth above the global average driving an increase in trade and tourism traffic. A series of Oxford Economics studies commissioned by IATA reveals that air transport generates $ 67.8 billion in GDP for Africa and supports 6.7 million jobs. IATA is organizing this Aviation Day in cooperation with Ethiopian Airlines, to look at the challenges and opportunities for aviation in Africa, ahead of the IATA Annual General Meeting to take place in Cape Town in June.
