Why attend?

We are taking the opportunity of this significant anniversary to review several features of this popular Conference, while upholding some of its most successful sessions. It is a perfect time to revisit best practices and prepare for the new world.

We are at a turning point - 10 years of history provide indeed some good background to look towards the future. With the advent of the e-Air Waybill and an increasingly paperless environment, several new legal questions are raised.

Most subjects addressed at this Conference will focus on how to manage the current dual paper/electronic environment in which air cargo is moving.

The CCLP Conference will continue to promote best practices and prompt debate on current legal issues relating to the movement of air cargo. But it will also increase the interactivity with the audience, set up a mentoring scheme and provide the participants with an IATA Certificate confirming attesting increased awareness in air cargo claims and loss prevention matters.

The 2014 CCLP will also enable the audience to:

  • Participate in interactive break-out sessions to simulate claims handling on particularly illustrative cases
  • Listen to and learn from renowned experts presenting their views on:
    • The developing e-Air Waybill legal environment
    • Global trends in cargo claims
    • Best practices in diverse geographical environments (Asia, Europe, North and South America, etc.)
    • Legal rights and obligations between air carriers and ground handling agents
    • Loss prevention strategies and Cargo insurance
    • Handling of time and temperature sensitive shipments
    • Air carriage of live animals
  • Get introduced to and obtain insights from experienced claims managers and lawyers through specific mentoring sessions
  • Pass a test at the end of the Conference to obtain a Certificate of achievement demonstrating increased awareness in air cargo claims and loss prevention matters.

Who You Will Meet

The 10th Cargo Claims and Loss Prevention Conference will attract delegates from all over the world, from various levels and domains in the air cargo claims business.

About 200 delegates are expected to attend this Conference, from airlines, freight forwarders, lawyers, shippers, insurance companies, recovery agents, and solution providers.

Judges' Corner and Experts' Panel

Moreover, the now traditional and repeatedly acclaimed Judges' Corner and Experts' Panel remain on the CCLP Conference's agenda, providing to all participants the opportunity to submit to eminent lawyers in the Judges' Corner and seasoned claims managers in the Experts' Panel some specific concerns in order to have them addressed during the Conference:

  • Do you have a claim that is causing you concern?
  • Did you handle a claim with a really tough issue leaving you wanting someone else's opinion in the event you face the same question in the future?
  • Are you interested in obtaining experts' views on great cargo mysteries which you have always wondered about?
