RFID Think Tank

The RFID Think Tank is one of the components of the Paperless Supply Chain project in aircraft maintenance. It is an opportunity for participants to improve their understanding of the current status of RFID technology and actively contribute to the definition of industry business requirements for the manufacturers to facilitate rapid implementation.

Date and Location

February 21 - February 22, 2012
Geneva, Switzerland
IATA Center, 33 Route de l'Aéroport, Geneva 15 Airport, Postal Code 1215

Event designed for: Airlines and Strategic Partners

Content overview:

One of the ways to eliminate inefficiencies in the supply chain and improve inventory and component management is to tag aircraft parts with passive RFID chips. The issue of RFID application in aircraft maintenance was raised about 10 years ago, but due to immature technology and lack of awareness in the industry, it has not been widely implemented. Now we have the ability to explore where we are with presentations from across the supply chain:

  • Information from owners of RFID projects  (e.g. overview of the current status)
  • Airline viewpoints on the application of RFID tags
  • Development of a common industry vision about RFID implementation
