Secure Freight Forum

Since 2008, IATA launched Secure Freight, as an industry initiative to provide assistance to states around the world that need to create or enhance air cargo supply chain security programs. 

The Secure Freight Forum is an information-sharing mechanism for this targeted audience and will allow SF CAAs to share best practices and seek solutions towards the definite implementation of such programs in their legislation and open dialogue with their counterparts from robust regimes, from which they will be seeking guidance & recognition in the future.

The Secure Freight Forum Program included:

  • Case Presentations from each CAA participating on SF Pilots to share their experiences, lessons learned and status for each location
  • An Open Dialogue Session to foster the sharing &  understanding of best practices between states that have implemented air cargo security programs and the CAAs that are undergoing SF Pilot Implementations
  • An Open Dialogue Session to foster an exchange of best practices and experiences shared by industry stakeholders that are participating in the Pilot implementations and their counterparts in secure supply chains around the world
  • Presentations from ICAO, WCO, UPU, ECAC explaining how standards and legislations are moving closer to a common understanding and complementation of roles;  security & facilitation, security &  safety; cargo & mail.
