• BSc (Hons) Mechanical Engineering from the, University of Nairobi Kenya 1979
• Attended a 3 months’ (PMD 71) Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School Boston US in 1996.
• Trained in various managerial and engineering disciplines in my 22 yrs career progression with Magadi Soda Company Ltd, Kenya

CAREER HISTORY

Joined Magadi Soda Company Ltd as a trainee engineer in 1979 and rose through various engineering and managerial ranks to be the Managing Director (CEO) in 1995.

Took 2 years sabbatical to work for the Government of Kenya as part of a World Bank/Donor supported team of six people from the private sector to turnaround the economic management of the country.  My role during this period was as Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transport, Information and Communications reporting to the Minister.

Joined Kenya Airways in February 2003, where I am still to date, as Group Managing Director and CEO.
