Annual General Meeting 2012
Dear Colleagues,
The 68th IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit, will be held in Beijing, at the China World Hotel, from 10 to 12 June 2012, kindly hosted by Air China.
IATA held its first AGM in China in Shanghai in 2002 and it is a great pleasure that we are able to bring this event back to China after 10 years. In a decade, the country has seen impressive developments in air transport and it has become an important driver of growth in aviation.
Our 2012 discussions will focus on some of the economic and other challenges facing our industry, squeezed between high oil prices and still fragile profitability, but since we will be in China, a country of huge economic scale, we will also spend some time discussing how to make the most of business opportunities there. See the proposed agenda.
Given the time needed to obtain travel visas to China, please register as soon as possible.
Accommodation and preferential rates have been arranged at the China World Hotel. This year room reservation will have to be done directly with the hotel. Once you have registered for the AGM, you will receive a confirmation message, containing a specific AGM booking code and instructions for contacting the hotel directly to reserve your room.
I look forward to welcoming you personally to Beijing and to our 68th IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit.
