Cargo security: the Air Cargo Security Industry Task Force takes shape

FIATA and IATA endorsed their co-leadership of the Global Air Cargo Security Industry Task Force during March, and media releases were made later that month. We have seen strong and consistent interest in membership, which currently includes 18 industry groups representing all segments of the supply chain. Membership remains open to other associations. The task force provides a unique opportunity to develop genuinely global and powerful industry positions, and membership carries with it a responsibility to participate.

Development of a project brief for the voluntary IATA security validation for supply chain operators is underway. Where appropriate, it will support and complement the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and the IATA Safety Audit Programme for Ground Operations (ISAGO), as well as embrace Cargo 2000 and e-freight principles.
