Welcome to the inaugural edition of the IATA DGR e-newsletter.

The objective of this newsletter is to provide users of the DGR with a better understanding of how to interpret and apply the Dangerous Goods Regulations.

This inaugural issue contains advance-information on changes to be found in the next, 49th edition of the Dangerous Goods Regulations (to be released in September 2007), a look at particular concerns or issues within the DG community, as well as tips on understanding packaging requirements for dangerous goods.

The 49th edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, available in late September 2007, will take effect 1 January 2008. This edition of the DGR will consolidate changes introduced by ICAO through an addendum to the 2007-2008 edition of the Technical Instructions, as well as changes agreed upon by the IATA Dangerous Goods Board.
