Fact Sheet - Partnership for Safety
IATA’s Partnership for Safety (PfS) programme helps airlines in developing countries prepare for an IOSA audit
Airlines in Africa, Latin America and CIS are the priority
IATA is investing US$3 million over 3 years in PfS (2005-2007)
PfS uses IATA specialists and accredited audit and training organisations
Programme elements include:
Seminars on industry best practices in operational safety for airlines and nations
Individual airline operational gap analyses
Identifying potential resources, including funding
Continuous contact with each airline to monitor progress
PfS complements the efforts of ICAO’s Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme
Since launch in June 2005 over 180 airlines participated in PfS awareness seminars, including 100 IATA members
73 airlines have undergone gap analyses, including 59 IATA members.
25 member airlines in Africa participated in post-gap training launched and sponsored in 2006 by Pratt & Whitney in collaboration with the International Airline Training Fund (IATF)
