Airline Economic Results & Prospects (AERP) is an online database that includes data on airline traffic, capacity, revenues, costs and profitability by route area, type of operation and class of service. The database covers an immediate two-year historical period where data is collected for each defined international scheduled route area, with separate inputs for passenger aircraft and all cargo services.
The content of the AERP is derived from the IATA Airline Economic Task Force (AETF) 2005 database. The database contains international scheduled operating and financial statistics from 58 IATA member airlines, covering the years 2004 and 2005, representing 45% of IATA international traffic in terms of Revenue Tonne Kilometres (RTK's) during 2005. The majority of the AETF sample comprises of European and Asian airlines, but also includes some Middle Eastern and African carriers. Although the AETF sample is small, North American airlines do not participate in the collection, therefore, the results provide a unique and comprehensive assessment of international schedule services for 2005 without the influence of the financial and operational performance from North American airlines.
Routes are presented on an individual basis only when three or more AETF participants have submitted data for that route. There are 14 individual route groups contained in AERP, as well as the Total International' route group (which comprises of the aggregate data from the 2005 AETF database).
