This Manual is designed to help originators and recipients of schedule information in terms of electronic data processing and message procedures. View the Table of Contents (PDF).
The purpose of the Manual is to set common standards and procedures for external schedules data exchanges.
To achieve standardization in technique, format and construction, this manual includes all relevant IATA standards and recommended common practices, including those of the ATA/IATA Reservations Interline Message Procedures - Passenger (AIRIMP). The SSIM standards are developed and maintained by the Schedules Information Standards Committee (SISC), which meets prior to the June Schedules Conference.
The SSIM Manual is published once a year in March. Any October updates are distributed electronically to March edition subscribers.
