e-Air Waybill (e-AWB)

Significant progress is being made to achieve our board target of 20% penetration for 2013. The March outlook shows the largest monthly growth performance with a penetration of ca. 9%. The Multilateral e-AWB Agreement gained government approval on 18 April – which will help accelerate the e-AWB progression. More information on e-awb

EU ACC3

To assist members to meet the EU’s new security legislation requiring 'Independent Validator' audits from third countries by July 2014, IATA's Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) course received several endorsements from EU States (UK, Netherlands, Germany and latterly France). IATA’s target is to mobilize approximately 60 Independent Validators by December.

World Cargo Symposium 2013

The World Cargo Symposium 2013 was sponsored by Qatar Airways, IATA held a hugely successful WCS in Doha 12-14 March. The symposium attracted 947 delegates including numerous multinational forwarders and regulators. Significant outcomes:

  • The Cargo Services Conference adopted the Multilateral e-AWB Agreement as an industry resolution
  • The Cargo Agency Conference endorsed the Cargo Agency Modernization Program (CAMP)
  • UK and The Netherland formally endorsed IATA’s CEIV Course
