With your strong support, the 68th Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport summit was a great success with record attendance. The unanimous approval of the proposed governance changes displayed the strength and unity of our association. Their adoption will help IATA to adapt to the dynamic environment in which our members operate by facilitating greater transparency and engagement in our processes and activities. More... 

 

Environment

  • The IATA Board of Governors and the 68th AGM last June sent a clear message for IATA to maintain its opposition to unilateral, extra-territorial climate measures and climate-related taxes for aviation.

IATA Performance and Governance

  • At its meeting in Beijing, the Board of Governors reviewed IATA’s performance on managing industry revenues and approved a number of changes to IATA’s governance documents.

Looking at the Numbers

  • Our forecast for airline industry profits is unchanged in this quarterly update.  We continue to expect net post-tax profits for the whole industry to fall from $7.9 billion in 2011 to $3 billion in 2012, which is just 0.5% of revenues.
