ICAO Block Upgrades

As a follow-up to the ICAO Global Aviation Industry Symposium (GANIS), the Block Upgrades Technical Team has gone through more than 150 comments received from GANIS participants.
All Block Upgrades modules were revised accordingly and will be circulated to all ICAO member States for comments.

As next step IATA will be leading the development of an avionic roadmap to support Block Upgrades implementation.
The main rationale behind the avionic roadmap is that any operational improvement in Block 0 (now to 2018) should be based on existing on-board technology.

The Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO) Operations Standing Committee

IATA attended the CANSO Operations Standing Committee (OSC) held in Las Vegas from 31 October to 4 November.
The CANSO OSC has a new structure with a more proactive approach towards implementation while focusing on strengthening partnership with IATA, ICAO and other international organizations.
IATA presented an update on the existing combined activities with a highlight on the implementation of the iFlex project, Global PBN Go-Team activities and Civil/Military collaboration.
As a way forward to this partnership, the OSC agreed to work together with IATA in order to have the objectives for the combined projects derived from user requirements.
