Since its inception in 2004, the StB program has focused on reducing costs and improving service to passengers.

The program has come far since 2004 with a proven methodology in place today. Building on the program’s and the completed projects’ success, IATA proposed at the June 2011 Board meeting to identify new opportunities for addressing current and future industry needs.

The StB Think Tank was established in 2010 to play a key role in the renewal of StB. This advisory group includes airline and non-airline representatives and meets regularly to discuss latest trends, challenges and possible solutions and opportunities. The group will consider new potential projects for StB in the second half of 2011.
