The second in a series of four IATA e-services/EMD workshops was held in Miami this month. With 100 delegates from 32 airlines and 20 system providers/GDSs, the event builds on the success of the first workshop in Madrid. The participation shows the region’s high interest in EMD (electronic miscellaneous documents) and motivation towards meeting the 2012 Board target of 100% EMD capability.
The feedback on both workshops confirms that the content was well tailored and met participants’ expectations. The most popular sessions were case studies from airlines that have already implemented EMD, panel discussions with airline representatives and presentations on how EMD works. All in all, airlines felt much better prepared to implement EMD by the Board target date.
Special thanks go to all the speakers, our main sponsor Amadeus and our exhibitors Resiber and Hexaware.
Congratulations to Air Mauritius and Saudi Arabian Airlines who became EMD capable this month, raising the total number of EMD capable airlines to 14.
