IATA will continue to give the industry the opportunity to provide feedback and input on the content, and future editions will include:
- Extension of described activities of forwarders (chapters 1-6)
- Expansion of the section pertaining to supervisory authorities, including their roles and appropriate regulations
- Transfer of cargo handling content from other IATA publications to the CHM
- Addition of ULD build-up requirements for special and odd-sized cargo
- Addition of ‘repair processes’ such as how to handle irregularities and non-delivery; and damage reporting standards, with relevant links to the Cargo Claims & Loss Prevention Handbook (CCHB)
- Addition of a section on operator variations
- Addition of training guidance
