Thank you Malaysia Airlines and MASkargo!

Malaysia Airlines and MASkargo proudly hosted and sponsored the sixth World Cargo Symposium in Kuala Lumpur on 13-15 March 2012.

Malaysia Airlines, the national air carrier of Malaysia, together with MASkargo, Malaysia’s premier air cargo transportation company, provided exceptional dedication and commitment to help make the symposium a major success and showcase the Malaysian-style “Partnership at Work.”

Malaysia Airlines and MASkargo ensured the presence of YB Dato’ Seri Kong Cho Ha, the Honorable Minister of Transportation of Malaysia and engaged local key stakeholders including Malaysia Airports, local press, Malaysian National Shippers’ Council, and the local freight forwarders associations – Air Freight Association of Malaysia (AFAM) and Federation of Malaysia Freight Forwarders (FMFF/PFFA).

They took the opportunity of World Cargo Symposium to open their Advanced Cargo Centre and their five star Animal Hotel to delegates willing to visit their premises.

Malaysia Airlines presence on stage

  1. Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, Group Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Airlines, spoke at the opening plenary session on the aviation economic environment and the challenges Malaysia Airlines and MASkargo are currently facing.
  2. Ibrahim Mohamed Salleh, Senior Vice President, Cargo Operations, MASkargo presented the principles and benefits of Secure Freight to a large audience as well as the key outcomes of the first Secure Freight pilot run in Malaysia by MASkargo, Malaysia Airports, DHL Global Forwarding and Intel together.
  3. Mohd Yunus Idris, Acting Chief Executive Officer, MASkargo debated with a local competitor, Air Asia Cargo and Atlas Air on the difference between traditional, low-cost and all-cargo business models during the Commercial track.
  4. Nasir Abdul Haniff, Head of Safety and Dangerous Goods, Malaysia Airlines participated in the panel discussion on Lithium Batteries at the Dangerous Goods track.

Sponsorship and exhibiting

Malaysia Airlines had a strong presence in the exhibition area with an outstanding exhibition booth, where delegates could experience and network with Malaysia Airlines and MASkargo representatives in an interactive and laid back way.

To close the event, Malaysia Airlines and MASkargo together with their key partner Malaysia Airports sponsored the Gala Dinner and kindly donated air flight tickets and gifts for the Charity raffle.
