Who can join?
All airlines are able to join the Clearing House. However, for non-IATA airlines it is a pre-requisite to be a participant of the Multilateral Interline Traffic Agreement (MITA). An airline is also able to join as a sponsored airline, subject to having an IATA member airline sponsor it.
Companies associated with the airline industry are also able to join the Clearing House as associate members, and as such are able to bill airlines for whom they provide a service subject to their being a consent form with the member airline. Associate membership terms vary depending on whether the applicant is an IATA Strategic Partner or not.
Once the various documents are completed and signed you can send them by either e-mail or fax for review. There is an online training session as part of the application process.
How long is the application process?
Once necessary documents and other requirements have been met, approval occurs within 30 days.
