Files from SIS: IDEC / XML
Hi SIS,
1) When a foreign company makes changes by IS-WEB, in what format will we receive these updates from SIS: IS-IDEC or IS-XML?
2) After the local user makes changes through IS-WEB, will we receive those changes from SIS in IS-IDEC or IS-XML?
Thank you,
Michael |

Hi Michael, I am not sure I completely understand your questions. By ‘changes’, do you mean changes to the invoices manually created in IS-Web, or changes to the Member Profile? Please clarify and I will be able to better answer your question. Hi Ashley,
Let's say that my airline sends an IDEC to SIS.
The validation of the IDEC fails and we are requested to make a small change.
We then go to IS-WEB and fix the problem (I know that this is not advisable, but still the user decided so).
The questions:
In order to be able to process that change into our system, how can we get it from SIS; by IS-IDEC or IS-XML?
Thank you,
Michael

Hi Michael, Thanks for the clarification. You will not receive any IS-IDEC or IS-XML from SIS for your outward billing, so if you choose to correct the errors manually in IS-Web, you will need to replicate these manually in your system. Hope that clarifies. Hi Ashley,
Your explanation about own changes by the IS-WEB is clear.
How about IS-WEB changes made by other companies?
What happens after other company makes IS-WEB updates, which are intended to us.
Do we receive those changes by IS-IDEC or IS-XML?
Thank you,
Michael

Hi Michael, You will always only receive “good” files from your billing partners. If a file with errors is loaded into SIS, no invoice will be generated until these errors are corrected by the billing party. Hence, you will never receive files containing errors and therefore there is also no need to receive the changes made – only the ‘error-free’ files will be presented to you. Hope this is now clear. Hi Ashley,
I was not clear in my previous attempts.
Here're the questions:
1. Assuming that we mark in the user profile, that we expect to receive from SIS only IDEC files, is it correct that inbound to us files, will always be IDEC, no XML?
2. If that is not correct, in what cases we should expect to see XML files from SIS?
Thank you,
Michael

Hi Michael, If you have chosen in your Member Profile to receive only IS-IDEC files, then you will never receive IS-XML files – this only applies in the case of Passenger (and Cargo) billings. For Miscellaneous billings you will only be able to receive IS-XML, as Miscellaneous billings are not supported by IS-IDEC. Does that help?
