Default values for Mandatory fields (MISC question)

Refer to SIS ISPG V3.0, section 5.2, default values (or substitutions) currently permitted. The default value for Alphabetic fields are ‘0’.

The question is,

1. Is '0', as a numeric digit, a valid value for Alphabetic fields?

2. If it is, then what's the difference between Alphabetic fields and Alphanumeric fields?

3. If the mandatory fields is, for example, 3A or 3N (and must be no less than 3 positions), the default value for it is '000' or '0'?

Substitution is defined in the documentation aside the IS-XML,  there is not alpha field impacted by the substitution.  '0' will be a correct value for AN.

Unique '0' is required, see IATA-IS-XML-Invoice Standards- V3.xls sheet M&U Mandatory - Recommended fields for more details.
