SFI 20 element 27 Flight Date
This field is currently defined as 00MMDD.
I think it would be more useful to define date field as YYMMDD. |

Hi.
This is defined as such because that's how the current IDEC standard is defined, it works, and we made an effort to keep the first 160 bytes unchanged.

Hi,
if we were to provide in format YYMMDD, will this fail validation?

Has this changed? Will SIS accept actual YY and/or 00

Hi
ISPG3.1 has clarified "Should always be populated in case of Source Code 1 and 14 billings".
For all other source codes, how should this element be populated?
We are planning to populate with low date value "000101". Will this pass validation?
Thanks Konda/QF

Hi Konda,
The Flight Date field in SFI 20 is a conditional field and has to be populated in case of Source Code 1 and 14 billings.
For all other source codes, this field can be zero filled. If a non zero value is provided, it should be a valid date in YYMMDD format.
A value 000101 is considered to be valid as IS will assume it to be 1st Jan 2000. A value 009901 will fail in the validation process.
Best regards
