Cost of supporting documents

Hi,

1) RAM A13 Misc states that Mishandling baggage invoices require supporting documents.

2) Supporting documents are charged on a per kilobyte basis.

As such my question is, since it is a mandatory requirement that submission of mishandled baggage invoices rquire supporting documents, would IATA still charge us for the supporting documents that we submit for mishandled baggage invoices? If yes, please help us to understand why. Thanks =)

Cheers

Dear Esther,

Yes, charges will apply to supporting documents - whether mandatory or not - as it is because we still incur transmission, processing, and storage costs regardless.

Incidentally, please also note that this part of the RAM A13 is subject to rewriting, as the process for billing mishandled baggage claims has been made paperless by agreement with JPSC, and Reso 780 (MITA) has been changed . All paper is now supposed to be handled between the baggage claims offices themselves, and not as part of SIS.

Best regards
