Cargo-Rejection Billing across stages
Reference to (SIS P3 - Materials - IS Participation Guide - Version 3) in section 4.4 (Rejection,Billing and Credit Memos and Reason Codes).
There seems to be an issue in the way Second Stage Rejection amount is calculated. The Total Weight Charge Billed and Accepted for the Second Stage Rejection amounts should be as follows
Total Weight Charge Billed
Total Weight Charge Accepted
Total Weight Charge Difference
GBP 950
GBP 900
GBP 50
Instead of
Total Weight Charge Billed
Total Weight Charge Accepted
Total Weight Charge Difference
GBP 900
GBP 950
GBP 50
I have provided an example below where the Accepted and the Rejected amounts are different for the Second and Third stage.
Example : Calculation for the Billed, Accepted and Rejected amounts in the Memos
Rejection Stage One:
For example if the Billed Carrier is rejecting a weight charge billed amount of GBP 100 based on a billing of GBP 1000 it needs to appear as follows:
Total Weight Charge Billed
Total Weight Charge Accepted
Total Weight Charge Difference
GBP 1000
GBP 900
GBP 100
Rejection Stage Two:
For example based on Rejection Stage One values above, if the airline is further rejecting a weight charge billed amount of GBP 40 (instead of the earlier amount of GBP 50 as quoted in section 4.4), currently it is done as follows:
Total Weight Charge Billed
Total Weight Charge Accepted
Total Weight Charge Difference
GBP 100
GBP 60
GBP 40
Under the new process this has to be reported in SIS as:
Total Weight Charge Billed
Total Weight Charge Accepted
Total Weight Charge Difference
GBP 940
GBP 900
GBP 40

For example based on Rejection Stage two values above, if the airline is further rejecting a weight charge billed amount of GBP 10 (instead of the earlier amount of GBP 25 as quoted in section 4.4), currently it is done as follows:

Total Weight Charge Difference
GBP 40
GBP 30
GBP 10
Under the new process this has to be reported in SIS as:
Total Weight Charge Billed
Total Weight Charge Accepted
Total Weight Charge Difference

This may have been a typo and not an error in the ISPG itself. The correct section is shown below.
Rejection Stage Two:
Under the new process this has to be reported in SIS as:
Total Weight Charge Billed
Total Weight Charge Accepted
Total Weight Charge Difference
GBP 940 900
GBP 900 940
GBP 40
In case of 2nd Rejection, the difference = accepted value – Billed Value
The remaining explanation is correct.
