Faulty file passed IATA validation >> action?

Hi all.

Scenario: IATA validation does not catch a certain error in the Pax file. Okay, this is unlikely, but we would like to discuss it anyway.

If our revenue accounting system detects an error (wrong/missing field content or record, incorrect record sequence) in the incoming file (which passed IATA validation), what is the planned process? Shall we reject the file in totality to IATA or contact the billing carrier? What happens with the ICH/ACH billing?

Please advise.
Thanks.
Claudia

Hi Claudia,

If such a scenario happens then the airline who received the faulty file will have to log an issue with SIS Ops. This issue might take some time to be fixed in IS….

However, until then the carrier can contact the billing carrier and either get a fixed file or modify the information manually in the file and try processing in its own accounting system.

Best Regards
