ISC +/- sign in SFI40

We note that SFI 40 ( Pax Invoice Total Record) has ISC +/- sign in element 11. SFI 50 (File Total Record) has only filler in element 11 - there is no ISC +/- sign anywhere, despite their being +/- sign fields for all the other value items in the record. Is this an error? We envisage the ISC total in SFI 50 could be either positive or negative. Can you check with Kale?

Hi.

All +/- signs (including the ones that do exist for other values) on the File Total Record (SFI 50) are irrelevant. Thus ISC Total cannot be negative.

If you note the validation for these value fields, it reads "should be equal to the hash totals of ...". That means that if, in two invoices, you have totals of +1000 and -900, your SFI 50 field should be 1,900 (not 100). Thus, all +/- signs are implicitly +, and thus aren't checked.

I think this needs to be less confusing, so I've opened ticket #132.

Ticket closed. The sign fields will become filler fields.
