File Receipt and Validation Error Alerts
What if we send 100 invoices in 100 XML files in one push session, will the person identified to receive the File Receipt Alert receive 100 emails or one? Does the same concept hold for Validation Error Alert? Will there be one or more emails, assuming 100 XML files are sent and say there are 10 validation errors.

Hi Lee, For each file sent you will receive one validation report. And if you configure in your Member profile to receive the email alerts for file validation, then yes – you will receive 100 for the 100 files sent. You said that it is okay to provide more than one invoice in a single file. However, ISPG 12.1.2 p. 239 states "Each IS-DEC or IS-XML compressed file shall contain only one file within it". How does this relate to your comment? If I have 100 invoices, tentatively I would think that I would create 100 XML files and then concatenate all of them into one large file, zip it and send it to SIS. Is this approach incorrect?

Hi Lee,
For each file sent you will receive one validation report. And if you configure in your Member profile to receive the email alerts for file validation, then yes – you will receive 100 for the 100 files sent.
Please note also that you can provide more than one invoice in a single file.

Hi Lee, Yes – it is correct that each IS-IDEC or IS-XML compressed (ZIP format) will contain only one file (IDEC or XML format) in it. However, within the IDEC or XML file itself, you will be able to provide information for multiple invoices. Please refer to the respective record structures for how you can populate multiple invoices in one file. So no – you will not create 100 XML files, you will create one with 100 Invoice nodes and populate the information accordingly. Hope this clarifies. Rgds, Ashley From: SEIPP Lee
