INTERLINE SERVICE CHARGE
in sfi=25 (cargo)interline service charge (element 22) is mandatory and amount subject to interline service (element 21) is conditionl.
so how is it possible that interline service charge amount (element 39) is optional.
ALSO - total amount (elemenet 41) is mandatory and based on few elements including element 39 which is optional . Does it make sense ?

Hi Michael,
Element 22 is Mandatory, so something must be entered there, and zero is a valid amount as there could be an agreement not to apply ISC.
Element 21 is Conditional, as it depends on whether element 6 is P or C (Element 21 only applies if Element 6 is C).
Element 39 is Optional as it could be zero, and as it is defined as a numeric field, it must be zero-filled when null, which has the same effect.
Element 41 is Mandatory as the total is required, but some of the elements in the summation could be zero.

Based on CGO IS-IDEC Record Structure v3.1.1 ,element 21 in SFI 25 (amount subject to interline service ) should be populated only for billing code 'C'. so why in the example page 154 elemenet 21 is populated with amount > 0 for billing code 'p' ?
