ZIP Files from SIS to Billed Entity
Dear Ashley,
-
. ZIP files sent to SAP for inbound interface;
-
Would there be a separate zip file for the IS-XML and the attachments or 1 zip with both included
-
Will SIS send only one zip file to MAS contain all the invoices/supporting documents for all the sender/billing period etc… or one zip per sender/billing period (or any other combination, sender/billing period is for an example)
-
As one IS-XML from SIS can contain multiple Invoice what would be the naming convention for the zip file and the IS-XML files 3. Can we get a sample input (zip) file for the Inward billing (with IS-XML and its supporting documents)
Regards,
Azuan |

Dear Azuan,
Please find the answers to your questions as follows:
1. ZIP files sent to SAP for inbound interface:
Would there be a separate zip file for the IS-XML and the attachments or 1 zip with both included
There will be two (2) ZIP files: 1. the IS-XML file 2. Offline Archive File
Please also refer to the ISPG v3.2 Section 3.12/SIS Output Files (pg. 57) for further details.
Will SIS send only one zip file to MAS contain all the invoices/supporting documents for all the sender/billing period etc… or one zip per sender/billing period (or any other combination, sender/billing period is for an example)
There is one ZIP file per billing period for Payables and one per billing period for Receivables. In the file, there are folders for each of your billing partner, within these folders are the invoices. Please also refer to the Additional Sample File for Misc (OAR files).
2. As one IS-XML from SIS can contain multiple Invoice what would be the naming convention for the zip file and the IS-XML files
For this naming convention please refer to ISPG v3.2 p.236.
3. Can we get a sample input (zip) file for the Inward billing (with IS-XML and its supporting documents)
Yes these files are already enclosed in the sample files (PAX and MISC).
Best regards

Hi Ashley/Azuan,
In the ZIP file "MISC Invoice Samples v3.2.ZIP" it has a word document "Additional MISC Sample files release notes" which contains reference to the Offline archive for invoices (payables type) and sample filename "OAR-MISC-P-222-20110201.ZIP" ... however, this sample file is not contained in the ZIP package!
Am I missing something?
We would like a sample of the complete ZIP file we would expect to work with for processing payables Misc invoices as a billed carrier. The file should have all the supporting documents in the correct defined directory structure as per the ISPG explanation.
Let me know if I am looking in the wrong place!
Thanks for your help, Russell (BD)

Dear Ashley,
Further to below, is it the airlines are expected to create their own zip samples based on the file naming conventions published in the ISPG v3.2?
If we have to create our own samples, could you pls help to take a look at the attached to see if the example is correct? I am interesed in the Misc category billings interfaced from SIS to the airline in the IS-XML format.
Also, appreciate if you could pls help enlighten on the following:
1. Where do we find samples and specifications of the INDEX.XML file?
2. Where do we find samples of the Detailed Listing PDF file under Offline Archive Level 4B?
3. Although there is a set of sample files provided on the SIS website, I believe we cannot just use them out-of-the-box and that each airline still needs to make some modifications for their own system testing? Is there a recommended way to modify the misc invoices xml sample files for testing? E.g. We have to use the two samples from the Misc Output Files set? Then we need to modify the file name, airline codes, invoice numbers, etc? We may need several rounds of testing and have a concern about having sufficient test data, because we cannot upload the same invoice more than once into our SAP accounting system.
Many thanks.

Hi Charissa, 1. If you look in SIS-Mobi-ISPG-v3.2/Supporting Attachments, you will find the AttachmentTransmissionV3.2.xsd – this is the technical definition of the INDEX.XML. You can find a sample file under SIS-Mobi-ISPG-v3.2/Sample Files/MISC IS-XML Invoice Samples v 3.2/MISC_Additional samples/MSDF-111I2011021500002/MSDF-111I2011021500002. 2. We have plans to release these sample files soon. 3. Yes – you can modify the elements on the files and use the Sandbox to validate these files. Thanks for this Charissa.... I appreciate you posting the ZIP folder.
I have looked and looked at the IATA SIS website, and unless I am going mad, I still cant find a "resources" section! I can only see materials on the left hand side, then following that to ISPG there is a samples files section, but the sample files there is a different zip to what you have posted!

Hi Russell,
Sorry, I remembered wrongly, it was "Materials" and not "Resources". You were looking at the correction section though, so I am not sure why the files were different... Attached screenshots of where I downloaded the Misc sample file zip from and where I found the Additional Samples.

Hi Russell,
Sorry, I remembered wrongly, it was "Materials" and not "Resources". You were looking at the correction section though, so I am not sure why the files were different... Attached screenshots of where I downloaded the Misc sample file zip from and where I found the Additional Samples.

Hi Russell,
Just to share. I think it is in the set of sample files uploaded under Resources. I have attached the Additional Samples folder here for your reference.

Hi
Please can you clarify where the path is you are referring to in your post?
I have looked on http://www.iata.org/whatwedo/finance/clearing/sis/Pages/materials-ISPG.aspx and when opening the “Miscellaneous (zip)”under sample files, I cant see the file OAR-MISC-P-222-20110201.
I just need clarification where to look please!
Thanks

Hi Russell,
If you look under SIS-Mobi-ISPG-v3.2/Sample Files/MISC IS-XML Invoice Samples v 3.2/MISC_Additional samples, this file should be there, although not in the ZIP format as it has been ‘uncompressed’ and included in the ISPG package.
Best regards

In the ZIP file "MISC Invoice Samples v3.2.ZIP" it has a word document "Additional MISC Sample files release notes" which contains reference to the Offline archive for invoices (payables type) and sample filename "OAR-MISC-P-222-20110201.ZIP" ... however, this sample file is not contained in the ZIP package!

Thanks Charissa for helping Russell out.
Russell - I have downloaded the MISC Invoice Samples ZIP file from the SIS website again and I am able to view it in the structure as I had described to you.
In this folder you should be able to see MISC Input Files, MISC Output Files, and MISC Additional samples. If you look under MISC additional samples you will find the OAR folder named OAR-MISC-P-222-20110201. In this folder you will find the INDEX.XML file.
For your reference I have attached the screenshot of the folder structure and the embedded link to download the MISC Invoice Samples ZIP file itself.
Please try once more and let me know if you still encounter difficulties finding this.
Regards,
Ashley

Hi Ashley,
We will be storing the IS-XML invoice as well as the documents from the Misc Offline Archive File on our Unix server so it is case-sensitive when it comes to processing the files. Could you pls help to confirm for the filenames and extensions, will they be all in uppercase or lowercase e.g. ".pdf" or ".PDF".
From the attached screenshot from the ISPG v3.2 regarding the Offline Archive File, it appears to be all uppercase e.g. INDEX.XML, MINV-UA-016-Z7B12345.PDF.
For the IS-XML file, based on the sample files, the file name seems to be uppercase while the file extension seems to be lowercase ".xml"
Thanks.
Rgds, Charissa

Hi Charissa, All output files from SIS will have uppercase filenames (including the extension). However, SIS is able to process both lowercase and uppercase filenames submitted by you. If your system is case sensitive, then it would perhaps be best that you stick to the uppercase. Hope that clarifies. Regards, Ashley
