Sample Validation Files
Hello IATA,
Apologies if this has already been answered, though we cannot find this info on the SIS forum.
Please can you confirm the following:
#1 Is there a standard layout for the validation reports for each categories ? If so, please advise where we can obtain the layout specification.
#2 Does the validation report differ if you send an IS-IDEC or IS-XML ?
#3 Are there sample validation reports available to review ? Again if yes, then please advise us where we they can be obtained from.

Hi Brian, Yes – there is a standard layout for the validation reports; however, this is standard across both billing categories – Passenger and Miscellaneous. Also, the validation report does not differ between IS-IDEC and IS-XML submitted files. Please find enclosed two sample Validation reports (IS-IDEC/Pax and IS-XML/Misc) for a dummy airline. Thanks for the sample files. Please can you confirm:
#1 Where can we get the specifications for the standard layout of all 3 validation files
#2 Is the same standard layout also applicable for Cargo ?

Yes – there is a standard layout for the validation reports; however, this is standard across both billing categories – Passenger and Miscellaneous. Also, the validation report does not differ between IS-IDEC and IS-XML submitted files.

Hi Ashley,
Please can you also provide sample validation files from the production system. (Pre Sandbox certification validation files are useful to have, but we'd like to see the content of these validation files when sending to production, if possible)
We are also looking for sample validation files for Pax, where the IS-IDEC failed validation.

Hi Brian, Unfortunately we would not be able to provide sample validation files from the Production system as these are real files containing real invoices. For information, the validation reports are exactly the same in both Sandbox and Production, with the exception of the file naming convention. However, please find in the attached zip file the validation report for a Passenger IDEC file, which contains the list of errors as this file failed in validation. I hope you will find this useful.
