AWB Issuing Airline - AWB Details Node
Line Item Detail -Airway Bill Issuing Airline in AWB Details Node
The SIS P3 - IATA IS XML Invoice Standard - V3.2.xls mentions the field to be Numeric of size 4.
In this case, if the issuing airline is AA -001, should this be displayed as 001 or 1?
If 001 is expected in this field then should not this field be Alphanumeric instead of numeric, as in the case of other fields like issuing organization ID (in Transmission header), OrganizationID in Seller Organization & Buyer Organization Nodes in Invoice Summary, CarrierPrefix in Prorate Ladder Node which expects Alphanumeric characters and specifically mentions that “American Airlines should be reported as 001 and not 1 in this field” in the values column.
Similarly, AWB Serial Number expects Numeric Characters only, and the field may have to be filled with leading zeros, if the same does not have seven digits.
The issuing airline field & AWB Serial Number fields are also present in the below nodes
AirWaybillBreakdown Node in RejectionMemoDetails
AirWaybillBreakdown Node in BillingMemoDetails
AirWaybillBreakdown Node in CreditMemoDetails
Please advice.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Thanks for the prompt response
If 001 has to be reported as issuing airline then please advice if this field should be Numeric or Alphanumeric.
As per our IT department, the numeric value of 001 is 1 and has to be reported as 1 if the field in numeric. If the field is of type alphanumeric, then 001 can be displayed in this field.
Also do note that, this same field - 'carrier prefix' is considered as Alphanumeric in other nodes, like Prorate Ladder.
Please advice.
Thanks,
Tobin

Hi Tobin, This field is 3 Alphanumeric. So in this case it will need to be populated as 001 and not 1, as anything less than 3 digits will fail in validation. Hope this clarifies. Hi Ashley,
Thanks for clarification.
1. Please advice if this field (AWB Issuing Airline) will be updated as alphanumeric in the next IATA – IS XML Invoice Standard version.
2. If AWB Serial Number field will also be considered as Alphanumeric, assuming SIS expects 7 characters in this field.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Tobin

Hi Tobin, 1. For Cargo billings, the issuing airline 3-digit code will be entirely numeric. So we do not see the need to revise the IS-XML Invoice Standard at this time. 2. AWB Serial Number is numeric, and SIS expects eight (8) digits for this field: seven (7) digits for the AWB serial number plus one (1) check digit.
