Regarding the tolerance of USD0.50

We encounter one problem regarding a tolerance of USD0.50, which stated in ISPG v2.1 3.3.3 Detail Validtion. As everybody knows, it should be zero tolerance in accounting rules. Although the explaination of tolerance is that Currency conversion or rounding issues, we still suppose this explaination is a bit ambiguous. Can we understand it only exist in Lising Currency converting Billing Currency and similar to ISC, UATP, VAT etc. which is calculated based on a certain amount. In any cases, net amount is always equal to sum all relevant elements, and total amount is always equal to sum all child records. If it is not the fact, please do me a faveor of indicating the location.

The tolerance of $.50 was decided with the help of the working groups after discussions.

The idea is that we don't want to reject submitted files just because our math and rounding is different than the billing parties. This is mostly applicable to currency conversion and other multiplications (such as ISC %), but also affects the sums of breakdown records.

There are RAM rules that affect tolerances, and these will still be in place, alllowing for rejections where the tolerance is abused.

Hi, IATA,

We really need your clarification on this tolerance issue.
(1) Is it USD0.5 or USD0.05?
(2) Do you really mean to apply tolerance even to sums of breakdowns?

Thanks

Hi Binbin and Konda,

The tolerance limit will apply during Sandbox and Certification testing. This limit is USD 0.50.

Since this is a rounding tolerance, it applies to the total amount of the invoice.

Kind regards

Hi IATA,

do I understand it correctly, the tolerance limit will not apply in production? only in the test systems?

This could be critical as we might think from the test validations that everything is ok but in production system all our invoices might fail validation.

Please advise.

Thanks
