BCBP Matchmaker

The BCBP Matchmaker is an automated system created by IATA that allows participating airlines and airports to establish contact with one another to set up BCBP implementation dates.

Why participate?

The BCBP Matchmaker is a WIN-WIN for all stakeholders involved. The system allows airlines and airports to implement BCBP faster and more efficiently. This will allow the industry to move swiftly to meet the IATA Board of Governor's mandate for BCBP:

  1. Airlines to become BCBP capable by end 2008
  2. 100% BCBP usage by end of 2010
Who should participate?
  1. Airlines: All IATA member airlines, as well as non-IATA member airlines, should sign up.  Through the BCBP Matchmaker they updated information about the BCBP capable equipment  (gate reader and printers) to airports they fly to.
  2. Airports: All airports – where IATA member fly to – should sign up. They will receive implementation requests from airlines and be able to update the list of equipment provided.
How does it work?
  1. An airline enters a secure website, selects a desired airport (where it flies to and) where it wants to roll out BCBP and enters a proposed implementation date for BCBP (date of issuing the first IATA compliant boarding pass).
  2. These submitted requests are sent to the airport accounts in real time so that the next time the airport account is accessed, the request is visible.
  3. The airport selects each request and either approves it or proposes a new date.
What is IATA's role?

IATA acts as the main facilitator and is actively involved in the process to ensure that contacts are registered and active for airlines and airports in scope. For more information contact your local StB representative.
