What is the difference between self-study and e-learning?

Self-study courses require the students to study on their own with a book, eBook, or a CD, and then go to a physical location to take an examination. E-learning courses can be done entirely online, including exams.

Enrolment

I enrolled online, how come I haven’t heard back from IATA?

If you have applied online but have not yet received a confirmation email from us within 3 business days, please send us an email to iatalearning@iata.org as it is quite possible there was a problem with your payment. Please note that we require your confirmation number that you received upon submitting your enrolment form online.

How long is the validity period for my course enrolment?

The validity period for all Distance Learning courses except Dangerous Goods Regulations is six (6) consecutive examination sessions from your first eligible exam session. The validity period for Dangerous Goods Regulations is four (4) consecutive exam sessions from your first eligible exam session. Your enrolment letter will also indicate this information.

When is the enrolment deadline?

What are the acceptable methods of payment?

The individual student enrolment can be paid by credit card or bank transfer.

Can I pay by installment?

No, payment has to be done in full through the online enrolment.

Can I request for a refund?

No. According to our terms and conditions, full or partial refund of enrolment fees is not possible at any time.

Is my eBook pdf file compatible with iPad, Kindle, and other electronic reading devices?

Yes, your eBook is compatible with those products.
Examination

What is the exam schedule?

When and where will my exam take place?

Your Local Coordinator will contact you two to three weeks prior to the examination to inform you of the exact date, time, and location of your exam via Exam Invitation Letter. If you have not been contacted yet by this time, we advise you to contact us immediately at examstraining@iata.org.

How can I contact my Local Coordinator?

Your Local Coordinator’s contact information is indicated on your student enrollment letter which is sent to you with the study kits. Your enrolment letter can also be provided upon your request  by email to examstraining@iata.org.

Can I change my examination location?

Yes, the requests for change must be submitted with your client ID and registration number by email to examstraining@iata.org no later than your exam registration deadline. An administrative fee of USD 100 will be charged.

What do I need to bring to the exam center? What is permitted and what is not?

Your exam invitation letter includes details of what you must and can bring to the exam center.

I failed my first exam attempt, when will I be registered for the second exam attempt?

You will be automatically registered to take your second attempt in the next available examination session. However, if your enrolment period expires, you will not be able to take your second attempt.

What are my options, if I failed or could not take my second exam attempt?

IATA has opened the opportunity for you to enroll at our website for the Third Exam Attempt (except DGR course exam) within one year of having failed the second exam attempt.

How can I get my exam results?

Your Local Coordinator or your ATC will communicate the results by the exam result release date, as indicated on our exam schedule. If you do not hear from them a few days after this date, please feel free to contact them.

How can I obtain a duplicate diploma?

You can obtain a duplicate diploma by sending an email to examstraining@iata.org with the following information:
- Your full name
- Your client ID number
- A photocopy of the original diploma(if applicable)
In addition, an administrative fee of USD 100 per diploma will be charged.
