What you will learn

Upon completing this course you will be able to:

  • Apply the Data Link Service Implementing Rule to support the implementation of data link services in your European State
  • Understand data link applications (CM, AMC, ACM and ACL) and the underlying technologies (ATN, VDL Mode 2).

Course content

  • The data link services ACM, ACL, AMC and DLIC, including message element semantics
  • The end-to-end communications service and protocols, and the air-ground sub-network technology ATN and VDL Mode 2 infrastructure
  • How the ground data processing and airborne avionics systems can be upgraded with the relevant functionalities
  • The ATS procedures for the operation of the identified data link services
  • The associated standard documents

Certificate awarded

An IATA Certificate of Completion is awarded to participants obtaining a grade of 70% or higher on all exercises and exams. A special distinction is awarded to participants obtaining a grade of 90% or higher.
