This particular course is the foundation for a series of training courses designed for the airline industry and their employees at all levels. The ASTP/Airline consists of 4 separate training courses, of which this is the first and establishes a foundation upon which the other training courses build. The course consists of:

• Foundation Course for all Staff
• Flight Deck and Cabin Crew 
• Ground Services
• Airline Management

Selected airline staff at any level within the company who are either responsible for the implementation of security measures or are required to be aware of such measures.

• Understand the nature of the threats and risks to civil aviation
• Understand the need for aviation security measures within the civil aviation Industry, and the relationship between the Airline and other key players
• Understand the responsibility for the development of legal and technical programmes to protect civil aviation
• Recognize the basic measures applied to ensure protection of civil aviation
• Respond to security incidents or major security emergencies implement the relevant contents of an Airline Security Programme

Prerequisite:

Trainees should have airline experience in their particular discipline and a working knowledge of airport operations.
