Aviation Security Training Package (ASTP) - Ground Services


How You Will Benefit

This particular course follows on from the foundation course and is designed for airline personnel who are involved in Flight Operations. This course is one of the elements in the total ASTP, which consists of:
  • Foundation Course for all Staff
  • Flight Deck and Cabin Crew
  • Ground Services
  • Airline Staff Management

Designed for

Selected airline staff who have responsibility for ground services within the company and are required to implement, or be aware of, security measures to prevent and respond to acts of unlawful interference.

Course Content

  • Understand the need for security awareness
  • Be aware of the security procedures at check-in, screening points and boarding gates
  • Appreciate the need for procedures for the handling, carriage and disposal of restricted and dangerous articles
  • Assist in the process of protecting and searching aircraft
  • Implement the security requirements for hold baggage and passenger/baggage reconciliation
  • Understand the procedures for handling bomb threats to aircraft on the ground
Prerequisite(s)
Trainees should be involved in ground services within the airline and have successfully completed the ASTP/Airlines 123: Foundation Course.
