• Understand essential fuel tank safety elements and typical terms
• Know the historical background of fuel tank safety 
• Be able to explain a service bulletin and/or airworthiness directive in relationship to fuel tank safety
• Describe the concepts of Airworthiness Limitation Items (ALI) and Critical Design Configuration Control Limitations (CDCCL)
• Know how to reduce the effects of ignition
