Advanced Management Program in Aviation offered by IATA and Nanyang Business School

This program reviews management practices employed by airlines, airports and regulators to help you navigate the aviation industry’s complex business environment. You will have the chance to study alongside peers from across the aviation value chain and work on case studies that highlight the needs and challenges of the industry’s many businesses and organizations.

One month of intensive training is divided into two segments of two weeks each. Courses are delivered at the IATA Training Center in Geneva and the NTU campus in Singapore.

IATA Geneva, 27 March - 8 April 2017

  • Aviation Law and Environment: In this 2.5 day course, participants develop the requisite skills to effectively design and implement aviation projects. Participants expand their knowledge of strategic planning and learn how to execute and manage projects that support corporate objectives.
  • Airline Business Models and Competitive Strategies: This 2.5 day course provides an overview of international aviation law, including the Chicago Convention Regime, aviation security and European Union aviation legal framework. The course also reviews the main challenges and industry best practices relating to environmental issues.
  • Managing Aviation Safety and Security: This course explores Safety and Security Management Systems standards and requirements, and their role in optimizing organizational system performance. Participants learn how to foster a company-wide safety and security culture and build competitive advantage through a systematic approach.
  • Airport Business Management: Participants explore the critical drivers of airport business, including airport economics, revenue streams and organizational structure. Industry experts hare best practices and insights on the core components of successful airport performance.

NTU Singapore, 3 - 15 July 2017

  • Airline Business Foundations: Leading industry experts share their insights and know-how on the key elements of successful airport management. Participants expand their understanding of critical industry challenges and learn strategies to reconcile growing demand with environmental concerns.
  • Global Leadership and Innovation: In this dynamic course, participants deepen their awareness of innovation, global leadership and cross cultural management, as well as boost their strategic leadership potential.
  • Airline Finance and Accounting Management: This course enables participants to evaluate the role of financial management in a broader corporate context, hone their financial analysis skills and acquire a functional approach to cost management.

Who should attend

We select professionals with diverse backgrounds, cultures and aviation experience to maximize exchanges during the program.

Successful applicants possess as a minimum:

  • Five years of work experience
  • Proven managerial responsibilities
  • Proficiency in English

Company sponsorship is encouraged.

Applicants are asked to send completed applications as early as possible as class sizes are limited.
