ICAO-IATA I-TRAIN Diploma Program with specialization in Aircraft Operations Management

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and IATA have joined forces to establish the partnership program I-TRAIN under the IATA-ICAO Global Training Alliance. This first I-TRAIN diploma program gives aviation professionals a specialization in Aircraft Operations Management.

The I-TRAIN program curriculum has been built on the results of the ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program (USOAP) which identified the lack of establishment of adequate training programs and training plans for all staff of civil aviation authorities, including managers in charge of planning and controlling safety oversight activities.

The IATA-ICAO I-TRAIN Diploma Program with specialization in Aircraft Operations Management has 4 core competency courses: Human Resource Management (IATA), Project Management Essentials (IATA), Leadership Development & Succession Planning (IATA), and Safety Management & Oversight (ICAO). In addition to these courses the diploma program will also offer two Aircraft Operations specialization courses, namely: Operations Excellence (IATA) and Flight Operations (ICAO).

Who should attend

This program is designed for aviation technical professionals from Civil Aviation Authorities and airlines as well as professionals from the general aviation community looking for building management competencies in their area of pilot expertise.

Candidates applying for the program should have:

  • A minimum of 5 years work experience
  • Academic or formal education
  • Letter of recommendation of employer
  • Letter of motivation

Additional information

Participants can choose from quarterly scheduled 5 days classroom sessions around the world. Students will also get access to additional study material such as eLearning courses, ICAO and IATA related standards and publications as well as Subject Matter Experts from ICAO, IATA and the industry.

The diploma program fee is USD15,000. The program fee will include all course and course material fees as well as the diploma.

Upon completion of the 6 required courses, participants will have to submit a final project addressing the implementation of learning activities in their area of expertise.
