IATA's Cabin Safety Quality System (CSQS) helps airlines fill the gaps that exist between the desired target performance of cabin crew - conformity to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and what happens onboard the aircraft, the so-called operational drift.
CSQS is a closed loop system that involves measuring, correcting and improving cabin crew performance on the Line and informing crews of the outcomes / actions taken to improve safety.
CSQS is available as a free, comprehensive self-service toolkit, allowing airlines to assess their current processes and improve them without the involvement of a third party. It has been developed by the Cabin Safety Taskforce on the basis of the SAS Cabin Safety Monitoring (CSM) programme, recognised as a best practice among the industry.
Benefits:
- CSQS permits cabin safety issues to be addressed in what is considered an appropriate manner and with appropriate timing.
- It provides reliable information for airlines to take corrective actions and prevent serious incidents or accidents from occurring.
- CSQS allows coordination and adjustment of:
- Cabin safety procedures
- Emergency procedures
- Service procedures
- Training
How to get CSQS:
CSQS is formed of 10 downloadable presentation files on PPT, providing a step-by-step approach to CSQS:
- Introduction to CSQS
- Components of CSQS
- Data Collection
- Analysis and Feedback from CSQS
- Observer Recruitment
- Observer Training
- CSQS & IOSA
- Obtaining Management Support
