Operational costs are a critical part of airline management, especially in the current economic environment.

Total annual airline operational costs are expected to amount to approximately US$480 billion (2009), while fuel will represent 24% (US$113 billion). For 5 years now, significant fuel potential savings have been identified by the IATA Green Teams.

To identify more saving potentials and improve operational efficiency, OCRI focusses on three major areas of operations:

• Ground Operations

OCRI Assessments

IATA GO-Teams perform on-site assessments to improve efficiency, identify operational cost reduction potential and support airlines in the implementation of OCRI recommendations.

These assessments can be customized by airlines to match their individual needs and address specific operational functions within the areas above-mentioned.
