Consignment Security Declaration
The electronic consignment security declaration provides regulators with an audit trail of how, when and by whom cargo has been secured along the supply chain. It can be:
- Transmitted and archived electronically
- Audited by regulators at any point in the supply-chain
- Reproduced on paper form from electronic information

Standard Security Declaration Layout
Authorities that do not yet accept the electronic consignment security declaration could accept the standard paper consignment security declaration layout. The standard security declaration layout can also be used to reproduce the information on the electronic security declaration.

IATA Member Airlines adopt the new Security Declaration as Recommended Practice
At the 33rd meeting of the IATA Cargo Services Conference (CSC/33) held in Istanbul on 8 March 2011, IATA member airlines adopted amendments to IATA Recommended Practice 1630 "Cargo Security" to incorporate the standard security declaration layout. The revised RP1630 includes the consignment securtiy declaration specifications, and also the completion example and instructions.
