How to implement e-freight?

Step 1: Prepare yourself

In order to make the decision to implement e-freight and to have a clear understanding of the e-freight business context it is recommended that you download the e-freight Handbook and you read the following key material on:

• Scope, approach and business benefits
• Status of locations and airports 
• Recommended business process and standards 
• Technology options and requirements 

Step 2: Prepare your operation

• Assess your company's technical readiness and close potential technical gaps
• Ensure your data readiness: you have to be able to exchange data with the required quality level with your business partners
• Write your internal e-freight operational procedures (e-FOP) 
• Train all your staff members that will be involved in e-freight 
• Select and engage your business partners
• Perform coordinated trial shipments and prepare your contingency plan in case of go-live issues
