The 4th ICH User Group Meeting will be held in Athens, Greece, on 28-29 October 2009. Participation from all Members of the ICH is welcomed (you need to be an ICH Member to join). The main focus of the meeting will be the impact of SIS on interline billings, clearance and settlement. Registration for the event can be done online at https://ems.resrunner.com/ichug.
SIS will completely change the way airlines and other users of the ICH submit invoices and claims to the ICH. The conversion from paper-based to electronic standards and processes will increase speed and accuracy, allow automated processing of billings and settlements, remove duplications and eliminate costs associated with handling, shipping and losing invoices and supporting documentation.
SIS requires major changes to airline billing practices. The User Group meeting will include break-out sessions on particular aspects of SIS that affect the ICH community, including the changes to Miscellaneous billings, the use of XML data standards and formats, the integration of the electronic invoicing and claims processes and other financial control matters. We will also address migration aspects and timelines.
As Member planning will need to start from now for the launch late in 2010, it is strongly advised that Members staff responsible for the management of invoicing and settlement take the opportunity to attend the industry briefings to be provided at the ICH User Group meeting, and prepare for any system developments that may be required.
