Integrated Settlement Participation Guide

This page contains information on the Integrated Settlement Participation Guide (ISPG).

What the ISPG is

The IS Participation Guide (zip file; 7.8mb) includes all information that a future participant needs in order to fully plan and implement Integrated Settlement. It provides detailed information about file interfaces and the processes to be followed by carriers in order to connect to, and participate in, Integrated Settlement.

Where internal business processes are affected by changes to system processes, these are discussed. However, it is the participant’s responsibility to examine their internal processes to determine the changes that need to be made to support IS.

The intended audience of the ISPG includes:

  • Participant’s IT Department and Revenue Accounting System Providers
To understand the impact of the changes to the Interline Billing and Settlement process due to SIS
  • Financial System Providers
To understand the interfacing requirements for billing Miscellaneous invoices and to carry out automated posting and reconciliation
  • Revenue Accounting and Finance Department of the Participants
To understand and assess the impact of potential changes to the existing business processes

What the ISPG is not

This document is not a user guide for Integrated Settlement and does not contain information such as how the participant will interact with the online interface provided by SIS (IS-WEB); this will be prepared and released before Integrated Settlement goes live.

This document does not contain fees that will be charged for use of Integrated Settlement; they can be found in the Airline Business Case.

Further Information and Help on the ISPG

ISPG webcasts will be held on 24, 25, and 26 November. These will be general webcasts (not dedicated to a particular section) of approximately 1 hour each and be in Question & Answer format. Based on demand, further webcasts will be scheduled. You are requested to ask all of your questions during the webcasts so that other attendees may benefit from the questions asked.

Version Control and Updates

The ISPG is meant to be an organic document. The IS-XML record structure will be revised in the future to support additional business types, such as GDS billings. Additionally, the ISPG be updated over time to clarify unclear sections and to provide best practices learnt through experience. Any updates will be posted on this page and announced via an SIS bulletin.

This document has been extensively reviewed with industry stakeholders and IATA does not expect any material updates to the system processes or record structure. Should changes be necessary due to participant feedback, they will be done within two months, by 15 January 2010.
